UNILORIN Releases Harmattan Semester Timeline for 2025/2026 Exams, Lecture-Free Week
The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has officially announced key academic dates marking the end of lectures, assessment uploads, and the start of examinations for the 2025/2026 Harmattan Semester, providing clarity for staff and students across all faculties.
The update was issued via an internal memorandum signed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Moji T. Bakare-Odunola, and applies to all academic staff and students of the university.
What Students and Lecturers Need to Know
According to the memo, the university has outlined a structured schedule to ensure smooth teaching, assessment, and examination processes throughout the Harmattan Semester.
End of Harmattan Semester Lectures
Harmattan Semester lectures will officially end on Friday, 16 January 2026. However, all departments are required to complete lectures on or before Friday, 9 January 2026, allowing time for academic wrap-up activities.
Lecture-Free Week
UNILORIN has designated Monday, 19 January to Friday, 23 January 2026 as a lecture-free week. During this period, no lectures will hold, giving lecturers adequate time to finalize and submit students’ assessment records.
Upload of Continuous Assessment (CA) Scores
The university’s academic portal will be open from Monday, 19 January to Friday, 23 January 2026 for the upload of Continuous Assessment scores and other approved academic results.
Lecturers are expected to complete all uploads within this window to avoid delays ahead of examinations.
Harmattan Semester Examinations
The Harmattan Semester examinations will commence on Monday, 26 January 2026, and run through Friday, 13 February 2026.
