Bayelsa Medical University Alerts Public on Fake Admission Letters
Bayelsa Medical University (BMU) has raised alarm over fraudulent admission letters and false “requirements and procedures” circulating on social media. The university emphasized that no admission letters have been issued outside the official JAMB and CAPS system.
BMU clarified that any message requesting applicants to pay fees into personal bank accounts is not authorized and should be disregarded. The warning aims to guide applicants, parents, and the public on staying safe during the admission period.
Official Admission Channels
The university stressed that all legitimate admission processes run strictly through the JAMB portal and the university’s official website. No staff member is permitted to issue letters privately or request payments for acceptance, hostels, or screening through personal accounts.
Applicants are urged to stay vigilant and report any suspicious messages via BMU’s verified channels.
Advice to Students and Parents
BMU advised the public to ignore any documents or messages that outline fake steps for admission. Messages asking for bank transfers outside the university’s recognized platforms should be treated with caution.
The university reminded applicants that all updates on admission, fee schedules, and hostel allocations are published only on its official website and social media pages.
Stay Alert: Applicants should rely solely on verified BMU channels to avoid falling victim to scams.
