ABU Unveils New Invigilation Application Portal for DLC Staff
Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has launched a new Invigilation Application and Scheduling Portal designed to streamline exam supervision for staff of its Distance Learning Centre (DLC).
The announcement was made in a special bulletin released on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, confirming that the portal will be fully deployed ahead of the January 2026 examination period.
A Modern System to Improve Exam Supervision
The university explained that the new platform gives staff a faster, clearer, and more organized way to indicate interest in invigilation duties. By bringing the entire process online, ABU aims to reduce manual errors, improve planning, and ensure smoother coordination across all examination centres.
How the Portal Works
The portal provides a user-friendly interface where eligible staff can log in, fill in their details, and submit an application for exam supervision.
According to ABU, the invigilation portal will remain open until Monday, December 8, 2025, after which submissions will automatically close.
Step-by-Step: How ABU DLC Staff Can Apply
Staff interested in participating in the upcoming exam invigilation can complete their submission through the official registration link.
The application page includes the required form and important instructions that must be reviewed before submitting an entry.

What Happens After Submissions Close?
Once the portal closes, the system will no longer accept entries.
ABU confirmed that shortlisted staff will receive email notifications containing their exam centre postings, assigned duties, and additional instructions.
Improving Exam Planning and Delivery
The institution noted that the new digital process will make it easier to prepare for each exam cycle. By housing all entries in one secure platform, the Distance Learning Centre can generate schedules early and ensure that invigilators are well-prepared ahead of time.
The initiative is expected to enhance the smooth running of examination days and strengthen the overall coordination of the Distance Learning Centre’s academic activities.
