Who Can Apply?
To qualify, you must hold a recognized Bachelor’s degree. Applications are open to those ready to pursue the following types of postgraduate programmes:
Available Programmes:
- Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)
- Academic Master’s Degrees – e.g., M.Sc., M.A., M.Ed., LL.M
- Professional Master’s Degrees – e.g., MBA, EMBA, MPH, MPA
- M.Phil. / Ph.D. Programmes
You can study full-time, part-time, executive, or via Open Distance Learning depending on your chosen course.
How to Apply (Step-by-Step Guide)
Step 1: Visit the UNILAG postgraduate portal.
Step 2: Click on “APPLY”.
Step 3: Check course requirements under “View Programmes’ Entry Requirement”.
Step 4: Click “Start a Fresh Application”.
Step 5: Select “Postgraduate” as the application type.
Step 6: Fill the pre-application form and print the payment slip.
Step 7: Pay the ₦40,000 fee either:
- At any bank using the Remita RRR code
- Online using your debit card through the PayNow link
Step 8: Return to the portal → Click “Continue Application”
- Log in with your payment reference number
- Use your surname (lowercase) as your password
- Complete the form and upload a passport photo (JPEG, white background, size: 275×314 pixels, max 15KB)
Step 9: Click “SUBMIT FORM” ONLY after you’re done.
Note: You’ll be charged for any edits after submission.
Read These Rules Before You Apply
You cannot apply if you:
- Are still awaiting undergraduate results
- Are currently a postgraduate student
- Have not completed NYSC
- Earned your degree from a satellite/outreach campus
You must upload:
- Degree Certificate (NOT statement of result)
- NYSC Certificate
- Relevant professional certificates (if required)
Important: M.Phil./Ph.D. applicants must confirm available supervisors with their department before applying.
