Taxlsm or tactic movement is the movement of the whole organism towards or away from the source of stimulus, if the whole organism such as cockroach moves away from the stimulus of light(photo) because it is harmful, the response is negative phototaxism. Conversely if it moves towards the stimulus of light, this kind of response is positive phototaxism. Tropism is the bending movement of parts of a stationary plant in response to a unilateral stimulus. Tf parts of plant bend towards the unilateral stimulus of light, the part exhibit positive phototropism while the part show negative phototropism if they bend away from the unilateral stimulus.
