Explanation

Sexual reproduction in fungi generally does not involve specialized reproductive organs. However during sexual reproduction, two hyphae from different mycelia lie side by side. Protrusions occur from their walls and are called progametangia i.e. structures that are going to form the gametangia. This structure acts as sex organs. Theygrow and touch. Crosswall develops at the tip of each progametagium to formgametangium and suspensor. The wails of the two gametangia dissolve- where they touch. The nuclei of the two gametangia pair to . form multi nucleate zygote. The zygote develops thick wail to become multi-nucleate zygospore which germinates during favourable season to form a new fungus such as Rhizopus(bread mould). Sporulation is the formation of spores usually borne by sporangium. Gametogenesis is the formation of spermatozoa and eggs by testis and ovaries
