Xerophytes are desert plants with dee^ root system, much water storage tissues, thick epidermis and modified leaves. Hydrophytes are aguatic plants and marshy areas. They have reduce root systems with usually broad leaves which float on the water surface. The leaves bear a lot of stomata on the upper surface for eliminating excess water. Mesophytes - are terrestrial plants(forest and savanna plants). They have well developed root systems, stems and leaves. Epiphytes - are plants that are not rooted in the soil, but are found growing on the trunk or body of other plants, twinning themselves until they get to the top where they expose their leaves to obtain enough sunlight.
