Darwin's theory is based on natural selection. Gene flow is the frequency of flow of gene in a population. It is more frequent in a small population. Simply put gene flow is the number of times a given gene occurs along with it's allele at the same locus or point along the same chromosome. Genetic drift occurs only in a small population and is the random change in gene frequency i.e. the number of times a particular gene occurs". This random change occurs by chance.
