The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the results for the 2024 second series West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates, also known as WAEC GCE.
If you’re among the candidates who sat for the exam, your results are now available! Here’s everything you need to know to check them quickly, whether online or via SMS.
How to Check Your WAEC GCE Results Online
To check your results online, follow these simple steps:
- Visit the WAEC Result Portal: Go to the official WAEC Direct website.
- Enter Your Examination Number: This is a 10-digit number, made up of your 7-digit centre number and 3-digit candidate number.
- Select the Examination Year: Choose “2024” as the year.
- Choose the Examination Type: Select “PRIVATE CANDIDATE RESULT.”
- Provide Scratch Card Information: Input your Card Serial Number and Personal Identification Number (PIN), both found on your Smart Identity Card.
- Submit and View Results: Click the “Submit” button to view your results.
How to Check Your WAEC GCE Results via SMS
Alternatively, you can check your results via SMS. Here’s how:
- Send an SMS: Type the following message format:
WAEC*ExamNo*PIN*ExamYear - Send to 32327: This service is available for MTN, Celtel, and Glo users. Example:
WAEC*4250101001*123456789012*2024 - Wait for Your Results: You will receive an SMS reply with your results.
Important Notes for SMS Checking
- Do NOT include spaces when typing the SMS.
- Each SMS costs N30.
- Wait for a response message containing your results.
Important Information for Result Checking
- Your PIN and Serial Number are found on the Smart Identity Card you used during the exam.
- Each PIN can be used up to five times.
