UNN Alerts UTME Candidates to Complete Mandatory JAMB Change of Course Before Deadline
The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) has released an urgent announcement to all Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidates who were recommended for admission into courses different from their original choices.
This update affects applicants under Advert, Shopping, and Supplementary admission categories — and the university warns that failure to act immediately may cost candidates their admission for the current cycle.
What UNN Candidates Must Do Now
According to the directive, every candidate who has received a provisional recommendation into a new programme must:
- Visit an accredited CBT centre.
Only approved centres can carry out the required JAMB updates. - Complete a Change of Course on JAMB CAPS.
Candidates must switch from their initial course to the programme they have now been offered. - Print their updated admission status.
This printed confirmation must be submitted to the UNN Admissions Office for final processing.
UNN emphasizes that JAMB CAPS remains the only valid platform for confirming and validating any admission. This makes it crucial for candidates to complete these steps promptly.
Critical Deadline: Monday, November 17, 2025 (Before Noon)
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has set noon on Monday, November 17, 2025, as the deadline for the 2025 admission cycle. UNN warns that any candidate who fails to complete the required change of course before the deadline risks losing their admission, as their provisional recommendation cannot be finalized on CAPS.
Why This Matters
The change-of-course update ensures that the new programme aligns with JAMB records, allowing the university to complete the candidate’s admission processing. Without it, CAPS cannot validate the offer — meaning the candidate cannot be officially admitted.
