University of Jos Announces Registration Process for New Undergraduate Students: A Step-by-Step Guide

The University of Jos (UNIJOS) has opened its registration process for newly admitted undergraduate students. Starting from December 16, 2024, and ending on January 11, 2025, this registration is a critical step toward starting your academic journey. Here’s a simple and clear guide to help you navigate the entire process.


Step-by-Step Registration Guide for New Students

1. Pre-Registration Requirements

Before you begin your official registration, make sure you’ve completed these essential steps:

  • Check Your Admission Status
  • Visit the UNIJOS Admission Status Portal.
  • Log in using the “Students’ Portal” option and click “Check Admission.”
  • Enter your JAMB Registration Number and select “Get Started.”
  • Download or print your registration procedure for easy reference.
  • If you were offered a different course than initially applied for, make sure to accept it on the JAMB CAPS platform.
  • Upload your SSCE results to the JAMB portal if you haven’t done so already.
  • Pay Pre-Registration Fees
  • Go to the  University of Jos Students’ Portal.
  • Log in with the email and password used during your Post-UTME registration.
  • Under the “Fee Management” menu, select “Acceptance (Pre-Registration)” and complete your payment.
  • Fill Out Bio-Data Information
  • Log in to your UNIJOS Students’ Portal and click on “My Profile.”
  • Select “Add/Edit Bio-Data” and complete your personal information.
  • Print five copies of the completed Bio-Data form.

2. Registration Process

Once you’ve completed the pre-registration steps, it’s time for the official registration process. Follow these stages to ensure you’re fully registered:

  • Clearance with Senate Affairs
  • Visit your faculty’s registration centre and meet the Central Registration Officer with the following documents:
    • Original and photocopies of your credentials
    • Five copies of your Bio-Data form
    • JAMB registration slip
    • Birth certificate or sworn declaration of age
    • Indigene certificate or Federal High Court affidavit
    • WAEC/NECO/NABTEB scratch cards
    • Affidavit of good conduct and non-membership of secret cults
  • Payment of School Charges
  • Log into the  Students’ Portal and navigate to “Fee Management.”
  • Select “Pay School Charges” and complete the payment.
  • If paying via bank branches, note that it may take 24 hours to update on the portal.
  • Once processed, you’ll receive your matriculation number and university email within 24 hours.
  • Course Registration
  • From your  Students’ Portal, select “Course Registration.”
  • Choose your courses for the semester and print the course registration form.
  • Get the form signed by your level coordinator for approval.

3. Departmental and Faculty Registration

  • Departmental Registration
  • Head to your department and meet the Registration Officer with the required clearance documents.
  • Present the receipt of your school charges to the Faculty Finance Officer for verification and stamping.
  • Print five copies of your signed course registration form and distribute them as required.

4. Additional Registrations

  • Hostel Accommodation
  • Accommodation is available on a first-come, first-served basis. After paying your school charges, visit the Directorate of Students’ Affairs with your payment receipt.
  • Pay the hostel fee online and confirm your booking.
  • Once payment is confirmed, select your room; it will be reserved for 24 hours.
  • Library Registration
  • Complete your library registration online through the University of Jos website.
  • Print five copies of the library form and submit them at the Bauchi Road Campus for documentation.
  • University Health Services
  • Log into your Students’ Medical Dashboard using your university email.
  • Pay the required medical charges and complete the health status form, including your blood group.
  • If you face issues with email activation, visit Room 11, ICT Complex 1, Naraguta Campus.

5. Forgotten or Invalid Email?

  • If you forget your password or have trouble with your email, visit the “Forgot Password” option on the login page.
  • Enter your registered email and follow the reset instructions.
  • For email issues, visit the help desk at Bauchi Road Campus.

6. Payment Methods

  • All payments can be made online using MasterCard or Visa.
  • Alternatively, payments can be made at bank branches, but must be initiated through the Students’ Portal.
