UNIUYO Hostels Reopen November 12 — Students Allowed Early Check-in to Ease Accommodation Stress
The University of Uyo (UNIUYO) has officially announced that all student hostels will reopen on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, marking the beginning of preparations for the new academic session.
This announcement was made through a memorandum issued by the Student Affairs Division, signed by Ekwere Offonmbuk M., Principal Assistant Registrar.
According to the memo, students traveling from distant areas are permitted to check into their hostels ahead of the official reopening date. This move, the management explained, is aimed at easing accommodation challenges and supporting students who may arrive early for the commencement of academic activities.
Approved Hostels for Temporary Check-in
The memo listed specific hostels approved for temporary accommodation before the official reopening:
- Male Students: W5 Hostel
- Female Students: W2A Hostel (Entry permitted upon presentation of a valid Allocation Slip)
Students are reminded to strictly comply with all hostel regulations, including presenting their official slips at check-in and maintaining discipline, safety, and decorum within university premises.
Student Affairs Division Advises Responsible Conduct
The Student Affairs Division further urged returning students to settle in responsibly and prepare adequately for the start of lectures.
Students who check in early are expected to cooperate with hostel supervisors and uphold university rules to ensure a smooth and organized transition into the new academic session.
UNIUYO Reaffirms Commitment to Student Welfare
In its closing remarks, the university management reiterated its commitment to providing a safe, organized, and conducive environment for all students.
The memo concluded with a call for all hostel residents to obey instructions and uphold UNIUYO’s standards of discipline and responsibility as full academic activities resume.
