UNIMAID Sets Resumption Date for 2025/2026 Academic Session

The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has officially announced the reopening date for the 2025/2026 academic session. According to a circular from the Office of the Registrar, signed by Mrs. Zara Umar Ibrahim, Deputy Registrar (Directorate of Senate and Academic Matters), the session will commence on Thursday, January 15, 2026.

The decision follows the approval of the University Senate at its 321st meeting held on Thursday, November 13, 2025.

Staggered Registration for Students

UNIMAID will implement staggered registration to streamline campus activities and minimize delays.

  • New Students: Registration begins on Thursday, January 15, 2026.
  • Returning Students: Registration starts on Monday, January 26, 2026.

The staggered approach ensures smooth processing for both new entrants and returning students.

Lectures Begin February 2, 2026

All academic activities, including lectures, will officially start on Monday, February 2, 2026. This applies to both freshers and returning undergraduates, marking the transition from registration to full academic engagement.
