UNILORIN Announces 40th Convocation Ceremony: Full Programme, Key Dates, and Guidelines
The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has officially scheduled its 40th Convocation Ceremony, a 10-day celebration of academic excellence, culture, and faith. The grand event will take place at the university’s main campus from Friday, October 17, to Sunday, October 26, 2025.
This milestone convocation is not just about certificates and prizes—it is a festival of knowledge, marked by prayers, lectures, theatre, awards, and moments of pride for graduating students and their families.

Important Guidelines for Graduands
- Academic Session: The 2024/2025 academic session began on December 14, 2024, and ended on September 15, 2025.
- Name Confirmation: All graduands must confirm their names on the UNILORIN website.
Mandatory Payments
- Undergraduates: ₦20,000 for transcript and certificate, plus charges for gown hire, muffler, order of proceedings, NYSC ID card, T-shirt, and admin fees.
- Postgraduates (Master’s & others): Same ₦20,000 base, plus gown hire and extras.
- Ph.D. Graduands: ₦10,000 for certificate, plus compulsory gown purchase from the Technical Entrepreneurship Centre.
All payments must be made through the UNILORIN Convocation Portal using MasterCard or Visa.
Academic Procession & Dress Code
- Attendance at rehearsals on October 20, 3:00 p.m. is compulsory.
- Only approved academic gowns and formal outfits (English wear or traditional attire) will be accepted.
- Hired gowns must be returned by October 27, 2025. Late return attracts a fine of ₦5,000 per day.
Extra Requirements
- Graduands must complete the UNILORIN Alumni Association Google Form via the school’s website and save proof of submission on their devices.
