The University of Lagos (UNILAG) Senate has officially approved and released the detailed academic calendar for the 2025/2026 session. The calendar highlights key dates for resumption, registration, lectures, breaks, and examinations.
First Semester: UNILAG 2025/2026 Academic Calendar
- Monday, October 6, 2025 – Online registration begins for all returning students.
- Monday, October 27, 2025 – Official resumption for the 2025/2026 session.
- October 27 – December 19, 2025 (8 weeks) – First semester lectures begin.
- December 12, 2025 – End of course registration.
- December 15 – 28, 2025 (2 weeks) – Editing of registered courses.
- December 22, 2025 – January 4, 2026 – Christmas/New Year break.
- January 5, 2026 – Lectures resume after break.
- January 19 – 22, 2026 – Convocation lectures and ceremonies.
- February 6, 2026 – End of first semester lectures.
- February 8 – 13, 2026 – Lecture-free week and GST examinations.
- February 16 – March 7, 2026 (3 weeks) – Undergraduate examinations across faculties.
- March 14, 2026 – End of first semester, students vacate hostels, and portal opens for second semester registration.
- March 14 – 27, 2026 (2 weeks) – First semester break.
- March 30, 2026 – Resumption for second semester.
Second Semester: UNILAG 2025/2026 Academic Calendar
- March 14, 2026 – Online registration of courses begins.
- March 30, 2026 – Resumption and commencement of lectures.
- April 6 – 11, 2026 – Hall Week activities.
- April 12, 2026 – End of course registration.
- April 27 – May 3, 2026 – Editing of registered courses.
- June 29 – July 5, 2026 – Faculty Week.
- July 10, 2026 – End of lectures.
- July 13 – 17, 2026 – Lecture-free week and GST exams.
- July 20 – August 8, 2026 (3 weeks) – Undergraduate examinations begin.
- August 10 – 15, 2026 – Exams in core education courses.
- August 15, 2026 – End of second semester and students vacate hostels.
- August 17 – September 5, 2026 – Distance Learning Institute (DLI) programme.
- September 8, 2026 – BCOS begins result consideration.
- September 30, 2026 – Senate meeting for result approval.
- October 19, 2026 – Proposed date of resumption for the 2026/2027 academic session.
Statutory Programmes (All Year Round)
- 2nd Wednesday every month – Faculty Board of Studies/Examiners.
- 1st & 3rd Wednesday every month – Inaugural Lecture.
- Last Wednesday every month – Senate Meeting.
- Two weeks after each examination – Uploading of results.
