UNILAG Opens 2025/2026 JUPEB Admission: How to Apply, Subject Combinations, Exam Date
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has officially opened applications for its School of Foundation Studies (JUPEB Programme) for the 2025/2026 academic session.
This one-year intensive programme gives students the chance to gain Direct Entry admission into 200-level at UNILAG or partner universities in the UK, Scotland, and China.
But before you rush to apply, here’s everything you need to know—from admission requirements and subject combinations to the exam date and partner universities abroad.
What is JUPEB at UNILAG?
The programme runs under the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB). By passing the JUPEB exam, candidates can secure Direct Entry into UNILAG or other JUPEB-affiliated universities both in Nigeria and abroad.
Important:
- The programme is non-residential.
- It is not suitable for visually impaired candidates.

Subject Combinations
UNILAG has grouped subjects into JUPEB subject combinations based on your intended university course.
Examples include:
- Accounting – Economics – Government (JUPEB SC – 021)
- Biology – Chemistry – Physics (JUPEB SC – 031)
- Economics – Government – CRS/IRS (JUPEB SC – 025)
- Mathematics – Physics – Geography (JUPEB SC – 042)
- CRS/ISS – Government – Literature in English (JUPEB SC – 001)

Admission Requirements
To qualify, applicants must:
- Have at least five (5) credits at one sitting in English, Mathematics, and three related subjects.
- Results must be from WAEC, NECO, or GCE.
- Ensure your results are ready before registration.
How to Apply
- Visit applications.unilag.edu.ng and select School of Foundation Studies.
- Fill the pre-application form to generate your Payment Reference Number (PRN). (Use your correct name as shown on your NIN slip.)
- Pay ₦35,000 (excluding bank charges) at any commercial bank using your PRN.
- Log back in with your PRN and surname (lowercase) to complete the application.
- Print two copies of your completed form.
- Your exam pass will be sent to your email one week before the test—print and keep it safe.

- Date: Saturday, 20 September 2025
- Venue: Distance Learning Institute (DLI), UNILAG Campus
- Format: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
- Duration: 45 minutes
- Questions: 85 in total
- 20 each in English and Mathematics
- 15 each from your chosen 3 subjects
- Note: If you select Mathematics, you will be tested on Further Mathematics.
