UNILAG Confirms No Increase in Hostel Fees; Announces Centralized Payment Portal for Dues

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has reassured students that there will be no increase in hostel accommodation fees for the upcoming academic session. This announcement brings welcome relief for students planning their budgets for housing, fees, and daily campus expenses.

Hostel Balloting and Eligibility
Students who wish to participate in the hostel accommodation balloting exercise must complete their course registration on time. UNILAG management emphasized that only fully registered students will be eligible for hostel allocation.

Late registration could result in missing out on hostel spaces, so students are strongly encouraged to complete the process early. Course registration is essentially the “ticket” for hostel placement, enabling the university to plan allocations efficiently once the balloting begins.

Centralized Payment for Faculty and Departmental Dues
UNILAG has introduced a central payment portal to streamline the payment of all Faculty and Departmental dues. Key highlights of this new system include:

  • No need to make separate payments at faculty or departmental offices.
  • Reduced total dues rates now in effect.
  • Easier tracking and proof of payment through a single platform.

This change ensures that students can settle all relevant fees in one go, avoiding confusion and unnecessary delays during the semester.

Student Association Dues for Freshers
Fresh students are still required to pay Student Association Dues at the faculty level during the screening process. Faculties will provide detailed instructions to help new students complete both the screening and association dues simultaneously.

Stay Updated via WhatsApp
UNILAG encourages students to subscribe to the official UNILAG WhatsApp channel to receive timely announcements, hostel balloting dates, and reminders. This service ensures students stay informed without relying on notice boards or peers.

With hostel fees remaining stable and a centralized payment system in place, students can now plan their academic session more efficiently and avoid unnecessary stress over campus payments.
