UNILAG Announces Key Dates for DLI 2024/2025 Residential Programme

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has officially released the full timetable for its 2024/2025 Distance Learning Institute (DLI) residential programme. Spanning six weeks, the programme is scheduled to hold from Sunday, September 7 to Saturday, October 18, 2025, and will include academic lectures and final exams across all levels.

This announcement is crucial for all DLI students—from first-year undergraduates to final-year students—who must be physically present at the Akoka campus during the outlined period.

Key Dates and Academic Schedule

Year 3 to 5 Students

  • Arrival: Sunday, 7 September 2025
  • Lecture Mop-up: Tuesday, 9 – Saturday, 13 September
  • GST Exams: Saturday, 13 September
  • Main Examinations: Monday, 15 – Saturday, 27 September
  • Hostel Departure: Saturday, 27 September

Year 1 and 2 Students

  • Arrival: Sunday, 28 September 2025
  • Lecture Mop-up: Monday, 29 September – Saturday, 4 October
  • GST Exams: Friday, 3 & Saturday, 4 October
  • Main Examinations: Monday, 6 – Saturday, 18 October
  • Hostel Departure: Saturday, 18 October

What to Bring When Arriving

Every student is expected to report with:

  • Proof of Full Payment for the current session’s service charge
  • Two Printed Copies of their accommodation slip
  • Medical Registration Confirmation from UNILAG Medical Centre

Payments & Course Registration Deadlines

To be eligible for examinations, students must adhere strictly to these deadlines:

For Year 3–5 Students:

  • Fee Payment Deadline: Monday, 1 September 2025
  • Course Registration Ends: Friday, 5 September 2025
  • Last Date to Add/Drop Courses: Wednesday, 10 September 2025

For Year 1–2 Students:

  • Fee Payment Deadline: Monday, 22 September 2025
  • Course Registration Ends: Friday, 26 September 2025
  • Last Date to Add/Drop Courses: Tuesday, 30 September 2025

Note: No changes will be allowed after these deadlines.


Exam Dockets & Passport Photos

To participate in exams, students must:

  • Submit one recent passport photo for each course registered
  • Print exam dockets as follows:
    • Year 3–5: Between 8–12 September
    • Year 1–2: Between 29 September – 2 October

Final Year Project Defence

Final-year students must prepare for project defence, which is scheduled for:

  • Saturday, 28 June – Saturday, 26 July 2025

Important: Only fully registered students will be allowed to participate in the examinations and project defence. No shortcuts. No exceptions.


A Call to Employers

In a special appeal, the DLI Management is urging employers across the country to grant leave to their employees enrolled in DLI so they can fully participate in the residential programme and successfully complete their academic obligations.
