UNILAG 2025/2026 Screening & Registration: Step-by-Step Guide for Fresh Students

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has officially released the full details for its 2025/2026 screening and registration exercise for newly admitted candidates. All fresh UTME and Direct Entry students must report to their respective faculties with the required documents on the scheduled day to complete the process.

The exercise is faculty-based and covers toxicology screening, online appointment booking, document uploads, physical screening, fee payment, and final faculty registration.


Overview of Screening & Registration

  • Duration: Monday, 17 November – Friday, 28 November 2025
  • Time: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. daily
  • Mode: Faculty-based at the main UNILAG campus

Tip: Students should arrive early on their booked day with all documents arranged and photocopied

Stage 1: Toxicology Screening

All candidates must complete a mandatory toxicology screening before registration.

  • Payment for the test is required.
  • Only candidates who pass the test may proceed to registration.
  • Students should keep a copy of their toxicology result to present at the faculty.

UNILAG has a zero-tolerance policy for drug use. Failure to take the test or testing positive will result in admission withdrawal.

Stage 2: Online Appointment Booking

Candidates must book a registration date online starting Friday, 14 November 2025.

Steps to book:

  1. Visit the UNILAG student portal login page
  2. Login using your JAMB Number or Application Number as username and surname in lowercase as password.
  3. Change the default password to a new secure password.
  4. Click “Appointment” → “New Appointment”.
  5. Select your Faculty and session, then click “Schedule Appointment”.
  6. Print the Appointment/Booking Slip and keep it safe.

Note: The slip must be presented at the screening venue.

Stage 3: Uploading Documents

Candidates must upload key documents via the portal: UNILAG student portal.

  • JAMB Admission Letter
  • O’Level Certificate (WAEC/NECO)
  • Secondary School Testimonial
  • Previous Degree Certificate (Direct Entry only)
  • Birth Certificate
  • Letter of Reference from a reputable professional
  • State of Origin Certificate

All uploads must be clear and legible. After uploading, print the Screening Form.

Stage 4: Physical Faculty Screening

On your booked date:

  • Submit two copies of all documents, including: toxicology results, screening form, JAMB slips, O’Level results, testimonial, birth certificate, state of origin certificate, and 12 passport photographs.
  • Present original documents for verification.

Stage 5: Payment of Fees

After clearance:

  • Generate Payment Advice from the portal.
  • Pay at any commercial bank or online through the portal.
  • Keep all receipts and print-outs for future reference.

Stage 6: Faculty & Department Registration

  • After payment confirmation, meet your Faculty and Department officers.
  • Complete any remaining registration forms and documentation.
  • This finalizes your academic records and sets up class lists.

Important Rules for New Students

  • Impersonation: Strictly prohibited; offenders risk admission withdrawal and police involvement.
  • Drug Use: Mandatory toxicology test; positive results lead to loss of admission.
  • Matriculation and Orientation: Dates will be announced later.
