UNICAL Extends 2025/2026 Admission Deadline Following JAMB Directive
The University of Calabar (UNICAL) has officially extended its 2025/2026 admission exercise, following a directive from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). The new deadline for prospective candidates to submit their applications is now 17 November 2025.
Who Can Apply
Candidates who scored 150 and above in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) are eligible to apply for admission into specific programmes that remain open at UNICAL.
Available Programmes
At this stage, only the following faculties and departments are accepting applications:
- Faculty of Agriculture
- Faculty of Education
- Department of Religious and Cultural Studies
- Department of Modern Languages and Translation Studies
- Department of Mathematics
- Department of Statistics
Other faculties and departments remain closed for the current admission session.
Guidance for Applicants
UNICAL management urges all interested candidates to apply promptly before the 17 November deadline. Applicants should ensure their details are accurately submitted to avoid any delays in processing their admission requests.
This extension provides a final opportunity for qualified candidates to join one of Nigeria’s leading universities for the 2025/2026 academic session.
