Admission Requirements

To apply, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • O-Level Requirements: Five credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, at not more than two sittings.
  • Doctorate Applicants: Must hold a Master’s degree in Petroleum and Energy Economics or a related field.
  • Master’s Degree Applicants: Must have a Bachelor’s degree with at least a Second Class Lower Division (or equivalent) from a recognised institution. A Postgraduate Diploma in Petroleum and Energy Economics is also acceptable.
  • PGD Applicants: Must possess a minimum of a Third Class Bachelor’s degree or a Higher National Diploma (HND) with Lower Credit (or equivalent).
  • All applicants must provide an NYSC discharge certificate or exemption letter.

Duration of Programmes

  • Doctorate Degree (Full-Time): Minimum of 36 months
  • Doctorate Degree (Part-Time): Minimum of 42 months
  • Master’s and MSc (Full-Time): Minimum of 3 semesters, maximum of 6 semesters
  • Master’s and MSc (Part-Time): Minimum of 6 semesters, maximum of 8 semesters
  • PGD (Full-Time): Minimum of 2 semesters, maximum of 4 semesters
  • PGD (Part-Time): Minimum of 4 semesters, maximum of 6 semesters
