What’s the Prize About?
The Nigeria Prize for Literature is one of Africa’s most prestigious literary awards. Each year, the prize focuses on a different genre—Prose Fiction, Poetry, Drama, and Children’s Literature. This year, the spotlight is on Prose Fiction, so if you’re an author with a remarkable novel, it’s time to get involved.
Who Can Apply?
If you’re a Nigerian citizen, you’re eligible to apply. But there are a few important rules to keep in mind:
- You must provide proof of Nigerian citizenship (either a passport or National Identity Card).
- Only published works from 2022 or later will be considered. Unfortunately, unpublished books or works submitted in previous years are not eligible.
- You cannot be a member of the Advisory Board, Panel of Judges, or NLNG staff, nor can you be related to anyone in these positions.
How to Submit Your Entry
To enter, here’s what you need to do:
- Fill out the application form – You can get it from The Nigeria Prizes Website.
- Prepare your book – Submit twelve hard copies and one e-copy of your book.
- Submit your entry – Send your application to any of these locations:
