Sule Lamido University (SLU), Kafin Hausa, through its School of Preliminary and Continuing Education (SPACE), has officially opened the application portal for its 2025/2026 University Preparatory Programme (UPP).
This one-year programme is specially designed for students who need extra academic support before starting a full degree. If you successfully complete it—and meet both UTME and O-level requirements—you’ll gain direct entry into 100-level of your chosen course at SLU.
Subjects Offered
Students will study subjects across three major areas, depending on their intended course of study:
- Sciences
- Humanities
- Social and Management Sciences
This wide subject coverage ensures you’re academically prepared for whatever degree path you choose later.
Who Can Apply?
To qualify for the UPP, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
Five (5) O-level credits including English and Mathematics, in no more than two sittings,
OR
At least three (3) O-level credits, with a chance to complete the remaining subjects before entering a degree programme.
Note:
- To progress to 100-level, you must:
- Pass the UPP
- Have five O-level credits
- Meet the SLU UTME cut-off mark
Even if you complete the UPP but still fall short on UTME or O-levels, your result remains valid for two academic sessions, giving you time to meet the full admission requirements.
