The directive follows a Federal Government notice dated 8 August 2025, emphasizing compliance with national standards for student graduation and mobilisation into the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

Students are required to use the official NERD upload portal. The process involves:
- Creating an account on the NERD upload portal login
- Verifying personal and university details
- Uploading the Academic Project Report, thesis, or dissertation
- Printing the “NERD Clearance Slip”, which must be retained as proof of compliance
The platform also integrates a national plagiarism checker, and students are advised to complete uploads early to avoid last-minute issues.
