Sa’adu Zungur University (SAZU) Releases Full 2025/2026 Academic Calendar for Undergraduates

Sa’adu Zungur University (SAZU), Bauchi, has officially released the full academic calendar for the 2025/2026 session, providing detailed guidance for all undergraduate students on resumption dates, registration, lecture weeks, examinations, breaks, and public holidays.

The academic year runs from December 2025 to October 2026, divided into two main semesters, each with key activities and holidays clearly outlined for easy planning by students, parents, and staff.


First Semester (December 2025 – April 2026)

  • Resumption & Registration: 1–14 December 2025 (2 weeks)
  • Late Registration: 15–19 December 2025 (5 days)
  • Lectures: 1 December 2025 – 20 February 2026 (12 weeks)
  • Christmas Break: 25–26 December 2025 (2 days)
  • New Year: 1 January 2026
  • Matriculation & Orientation: 7 January 2026
  • GST Examination: 23–28 February 2026 (1 week)
  • Main Examinations: 2–14 March 2026 (2 weeks)
  • Ed-el-Fitr Celebration: 19–20 March 2026
  • Mid-Semester Break: 16 March – 12 April 2026 (4 weeks)
  • Good Friday & Easter Monday: 3–6 April 2026

Student Notes: The first semester allows ample time for fee clearance, settling in, and exam preparation. Lectures run with short breaks for Christmas and New Year, followed by GST and main examinations.

Second Semester (April – July 2026)

  • Resumption & Registration: 13–18 April 2026 (1 week)
  • Lectures: 13 April – 3 July 2026 (12 weeks)
  • Ed-el-Kabir Celebration: 27–28 May 2026
  • Democracy Day: 12 June 2026
  • GST Examination: 6–10 July 2026 (1 week)
  • Main Examinations: 13–25 July 2026 (2 weeks)
  • End-of-Session Break: 27 July – 18 October 2026 (12 weeks)
  • Independence Day: 1 October 2026

Student Notes: Second semester resumption begins mid-April. Lectures continue with short gaps for Ed-el-Kabir and Democracy Day, followed by GST and main exams. The semester closes with a 12-week break, including Independence Day.
