Ogun State Students to Compete in 2025 Adebiyi Habib Foundation Essay & Debate Challenge
Ogun State students are gearing up for one of the most exciting academic contests of the year — the second edition of the Adebiyi Habib Foundation (AHF) Essay and Debate Competition, organized in partnership with the Ogun State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.
This year’s competition is not just about writing; it’s about recognition, confidence, and leadership. Senior secondary school students from SS1 to SS3 across Ogun State now have the rare chance to showcase their brilliance and even step into the shoes of a leader — literally.
The winner will not only go home with a huge cash prize but will also serve as Ogun State’s One-Day Commissioner for Education, an experience that could inspire a lifetime of leadership.
Theme for the 2025 AHF Essay/Debate Competition
Students are expected to write on the thought-provoking theme:
“The Role of AI & Other Emerging Technology in Enhancing Healthcare Delivery in Ogun State.”
Each essay must:
- Be typed and converted into PDF format
- Contain 750 to 1000 words
- Be original and well-researched
Prizes to Be Won
The competition offers both financial rewards and life-changing opportunities. Here’s what’s up for grabs:
- 1st Prize: ₦150,000, a brand-new desktop computer, and the honor of serving as Ogun State One-Day Commissioner for Education.
- 2nd Prize (First Runner-Up): ₦100,000 and a new colour printer.
- 3rd Prize (Second Runner-Up): ₦70,000 and a new colour printer.
Importantly, the prizes also extend recognition to the winners’ schools, making this a collective victory.
Eligibility and Rules
To qualify, students must:
- Be a Nigerian senior secondary student (SS1–SS3) in Ogun State (public or private school).
- Attach a scanned school ID card and a passport photo.
- Submit only one entry (multiple entries will lead to disqualification).
- Convert their essay from MS Word to PDF before uploading.
Deadline for Submission
The submission portal closes on 30th September 2025, at exactly 11:59 PM.
Any entry sent after the deadline will not be accepted.
