NYSC Announces Distribution of 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Certificates of Exemption Nationwide
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has officially confirmed that Certificates of Exemption for the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream II have been fully produced and dispatched to all Corps Producing Institutions (CPIs) across Nigeria.
This development signals the commencement of the collection phase for graduates who were exempted from the one-year national service, in line with the NYSC Act.
In a statement released by the NYSC management, the agency noted that all participating institutions have received their batches of exemption certificates. Graduates are therefore urged to visit their respective schools promptly to collect theirs and avoid unnecessary delays or complications.
Six-Month Deadline for Collection Begins
The NYSC further reminded all CPIs of its strict policy requiring schools to return any unclaimed Certificates of Exemption to the scheme’s national headquarters six months after delivery.
According to the circular, the six-month countdown began on October 6, 2025, meaning graduates have until April 2026 to collect their certificates before they are recalled.
Graduates are strongly advised to act swiftly, as failure to collect the certificate within this timeframe could lead to administrative hurdles in future verifications or employment processes.
Handle Certificates with Care, NYSC Warns
The NYSC also emphasized that exemption certificates are official legal documents and should be handled with utmost care.
Once collected, graduates should keep the document safe, as replacing a lost or damaged certificate requires a formal process, including verifiable proof of identity and a written application to the NYSC headquarters.
Understanding the NYSC Certificate of Exemption
The NYSC Certificate of Exemption is a vital document issued to graduates who, for legitimate reasons—such as being above the age of 30 or possessing certain qualifications—are exempted from the one-year mandatory national service.
This certificate serves as official proof that the individual has fulfilled the NYSC Act’s statutory requirement. It is also a crucial credential often required during job applications, public service appointments, and other official verifications in Nigeria.
Final Reminder
The NYSC reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining efficiency in certificate production and distribution nationwide.
Graduates from the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream II are therefore urged to collect their Certificates of Exemption from their respective schools before the six-month deadline expires, to prevent complications or forfeiture.
