NUC Gives Green Light for New Programmes at Amadeus University Amizi
The National Universities Commission (NUC) has officially approved three new academic programmes for Amadeus University, Amizi, located in Ikwuano Local Government Area, Umuahia.
The approval, which takes effect from the 2025/2026 academic session, includes the introduction of the following professional degree programmes:
- MBBS Medicine and Surgery
- LL.B Law
- Pharm.D Doctor of Pharmacy
According to the NUC, the approval followed a thorough evaluation of the university’s academic staff capacity, teaching facilities, and infrastructure. This marks a significant milestone in the university’s commitment to providing globally competitive education.
Admissions Now Open for Medicine and Pharmacy
Following the NUC’s approval, Amadeus University has commenced admissions into two of the newly accredited programmes — MBBS Medicine and Surgery and D.Pharm Pharmacy — for the 2025/2026 academic year.
Prospective applicants are required to meet the following entry qualifications:
- A minimum JAMB score of 200 and above for Medicine and Surgery
- A minimum JAMB score of 180 and above for D.Pharm Pharmacy
- Five credit passes in relevant SSCE or NECO subjects
Candidates must apply through the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) and select Amadeus University as their preferred institution and course of study.
In addition to these new programmes, admissions remain open for 19 other accredited degree courses, which can be explored on the university’s official portal: amadeus.edu.ng.
