NSUK Launches ₦2 Million Vice Chancellor’s Research Grant for 2025/2026 Academic Year
The School of Postgraduate Studies (SPGS) at Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) has officially opened applications for the Vice Chancellor’s Research Grant for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The prestigious grant, valued at ₦2 million, aims to support exceptional PhD students conducting groundbreaking research that advances scientific innovation, creative inquiry, or community development. The initiative is designed to promote original, practical research aligned with national and regional growth priorities.
Thematic Areas for the 2025/2026 Grant
The research grant covers two main categories:
- Science and Technology
- Arts and Humanities
Each category welcomes innovative research proposals that show depth, originality, and measurable impact, especially those addressing real-world challenges within Nigeria or the researcher’s local community.
Grant Value and Awards Breakdown
The total grant amount stands at ₦2,000,000 (Two Million Naira), distributed as follows:
- Best Proposal (per thematic area): ₦500,000
- Second-Best Proposal: ₦300,000
- Third-Best Proposal: ₦200,000

Proposal Submission Guidelines
Applicants must follow the official proposal format, which includes:
- Executive Summary – not more than 300 words
- Keywords – 3 to 5 describing the project
- Background of the Research Project – context and relevance
- Research Objectives – clearly defined goals
- Statement of Problem – evidence-based and specific
- Conceptual Framework – theoretical foundation
- Research Output and Outcomes – expected deliverables
- Project Impact – academic, social, or economic benefits
- Literature Review – past studies and identified gaps
- Research Methodology – design, process, and data collection methods
- Research Activity/Output Indicators – measurable results
