The Nigerian Air Force Begins 2025 Recruitment — Here’s Everything You Need to Know

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has officially opened applications for its Basic Military Training Course (BMTC) 46/2025, inviting qualified Nigerians to apply as Airmen and Airwomen.

According to the NAF, the recruitment exercise is completely free, and interested applicants are strongly advised to read all instructions carefully, confirm their eligibility, and submit applications only through the official recruitment portal.


Who Can Apply

Applicants must be Nigerian citizens and meet the following general requirements:

  • Height: Minimum of 1.66 meters for males and 1.63 meters for females.
  • Must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit according to NAF standards.
  • Must have no previous criminal conviction by a court of law.

Category 1: Non-Trades

  • Age Requirement: 18–22 years at the time of application.
  • Educational Qualification: Minimum of five (5) credits, including Mathematics and English, obtained in not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, GCE, NABTEB, or NBAIS.
  • A secondary school testimonial is required.

Category 2: Trades

  • Age Requirement: 18–27 years at the time of application.
  • ND or NCE Holders: Must have at least a Lower Credit from an accredited institution, plus five (5) credits, including Mathematics and English, in not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, GCE, NABTEB, or NBAIS.
  • Drivers and Technical Trades: Must have five (5) credits including Mathematics and English, a relevant Trade Test Certificate, and a valid driver’s license (for drivers).
  • Sportsmen and Sportswomen: Must present proof of professional achievements, such as certificates or medals, in addition to required SSCE credits.

Documents to Print After Completing the Application

Once the online form is successfully submitted, applicants are required to print the following documents:

  1. Acknowledgement Form
  2. Parent/Guardian Consent Form
  3. Local Government Area (LGA) Attestation Form, signed by one of the following officials from the applicant’s state:
    • A military officer not below the rank of Wing Commander (Air Force) or equivalent in the Army/Navy.
    • A Police Officer of rank Chief Superintendent (CSP) or higher.
    • A Local Government Chairman or Secretary.
    • A Magistrate.

The Attestation Form must include the signee’s passport photograph and a photocopy of their Driver’s Licence, National ID Card, or International Passport.

Note: Invalid applicants will not have access to these forms.

Important Dates and Selection Process

  • Online Registration: Opens October 14, 2025, and closes November 25, 2025.
  • The Zonal General Aptitude Test date will be announced on the NAF Recruitment Portal.
  • Only successful applicants will be invited for the Selection Interview.
