Nigeria Police Force Launches Nationwide Recruitment for 2025/2026

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has officially announced a large-scale recruitment drive for eligible Nigerians, offering opportunities for careers in both general duty and specialist roles. The recruitment, organized in collaboration with the Police Service Commission (PSC), follows directives from the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

This recruitment drive aims to strengthen the police workforce while providing citizens a fair and merit-based pathway into national service.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be a Nigerian citizen by birth
  • Be physically and mentally fit
  • Have good character, no criminal convictions, and two character referees
  • Be debt-free and financially responsible
  • General duty: 18–25 years; Specialists: up to 28 years
  • Female applicants must not be pregnant during training
  • Be free from physical impairments like poor eyesight, flat foot, bow legs, or limb deformities
  • Minimum height: Males 1.67 m, Females 1.64 m
  • Male general duty applicants: chest size ≥ 86 cm

Academic & Professional Qualifications

General Duty Applicants:

  • GCE O’Level, SSCE, NECO, or equivalent
  • At least five credits, including English and Mathematics
  • Results from no more than two sittings

Specialist Applicants:

  • GCE O’Level, SSCE, NECO, or equivalent
  • At least four credits, including English and Mathematics
  • Minimum three years of work experience
  • Relevant trade test certificates required

    • First School Leaving Certificate
    • SSCE results
    • LGA or State of Origin certificate
    • Birth certificate
  • Specialist applicants: trade test certificates
  • Drivers: valid driver’s license

Screening & Important Notes

All applicants will undergo:

  • Physical screening
  • Medical checks
  • Aptitude tests
  • Background verification
