Nigeria Maritime University (NMU) Opens Post-UTME Screening for 2025/2026 Admission – All You Need to Know
The Wait is Over
The gates are opening at Nigeria Maritime University (NMU), Okerenkoko, and admission hopefuls finally have their chance. The school has confirmed that its Post-UTME screening exercise for fresh ND applicants will run for just two days:
Thursday, August 21, 2025
Friday, August 22, 2025
For many JAMB candidates, these two days could be the turning point—either a ticket into NMU’s classrooms or another year of waiting.
Who is Eligible?
Not everyone can jump on board. To qualify, applicants must meet these requirements:
- JAMB score of at least 160 (higher cut-offs apply for some courses).
- Five O’Level credits in relevant subjects.
- Completion of the online bio-data form.
Note: Candidates who skip the screening will not be considered for admission later.
How to Apply (Step-by-Step)
The process is simple but must be done carefully:
- Pay a non-refundable fee of ₦2,000 via the NMU portal.
- Visit the NMU e-portal and click Admission Forms.
- Select Post-UTME, proceed to make payment (ATM cards & internet banking accepted).
- After successful payment, return to the portal, register, and secure your login details.
- Print out the 2025/2026 Screening Slip and keep it safe.
No need to upload passport photographs or O’Level results—JAMB already has those details.

Final Note for Candidates
For some, like the student with 172 in JAMB eyeing Mechanical Engineering, this could be the moment that defines the next four years. For others, it may be the chance to consider Marine Economics, Ports Management, or Fisheries.
The opportunity is clear: NMU has opened the door, but it’s up to you to walk through it.
As one Nigerian parent would say, “No dull yourself, my pikin.”
