The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is once again investing in the future of the region by offering fully funded Postgraduate Scholarships to qualified graduates from the Niger Delta. If you’re a bright mind ready to pursue a Master’s degree within Nigeria, this could be your shot to power up your career.
The aim is simple: to equip Niger Delta youths with the skills and training needed to thrive in Nigeria’s evolving workforce, especially in fields linked to local content development.
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be an indigene of the Niger Delta region
- Be 40 years or younger
- Possess either of the following:
- A Bachelor’s Degree with a First Class, Second Class Upper, or Lower
- Or a Higher National Diploma (HND) with Upper Credit plus a Postgraduate Diploma
If you meet these requirements, you’re good to go!

You must apply for a program in one of the following fields:
- Agricultural Sciences
- Architecture
- Engineering
- Environmental Sciences
- Geosciences
- Humanities
- Information Technology
- Law
- Management & Social Sciences
- Medical Sciences
Selection Process: What to Expect
Getting selected won’t be automatic—it’s competitive and thorough. Here’s the step-by-step breakdown:
1. Online Application
Start by submitting your application on the official NDDC scholarship portal.
2. Shortlisting
Your documents will be screened based on:
- WASSCE/NECO results
- Degree or diploma grade
- Local Government Identification
3. Computer-Based Test (CBT)
If shortlisted, you’ll be invited to take a CBT in one of the following centres:
- Akwa Ibom
- Delta
- Rivers
You must score at least 70% to proceed.
4. Oral Interview
Candidates who scale through the CBT will face an interview panel.
5. Final Verification
Your details will be cross-checked by your local government and community representatives.
How to Apply
Visit the application portal and upload the following:
- Recent passport photograph
- Local Government Identification letter
- University admission letter (Nigerian university only)
- Degree or HND certificates
- NYSC discharge or exemption certificate
Once submitted, a registration number will appear—print it and keep it safe.
Deadline for Application: July 20, 2025
Ensure your complete application is submitted before the deadline. Late entries will not be accepted.

- Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
- No room for appeals—NDDC decisions are final.
- Preference is given to host communities of oil-producing areas, provided candidates meet the minimum score.
- Changing your course, university, or deferring your admission is not allowed.
