NCEE 2026: NECO Announces June 6 Exam for Admission into Federal Unity Colleges
The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially fixed Saturday, June 6, 2026, for the National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE), the qualifying test for admission into Junior Secondary School One (JSS 1) of Federal Government Unity Colleges across Nigeria.
The exam will be held nationwide in all 36 states and the FCT, and it is strictly for pupils in their final year of primary school who will be at least 10 years old by September 2026.
NECO warns that only candidates registered on the official NCEE portal will be allowed to sit for the examination.
What is the NCEE?
The National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) is the only entrance test into Nigeria’s Federal Unity Colleges. Passing it gives pupils the chance to gain admission into JSS 1 in these highly competitive government secondary schools.

Final Advice to Parents
The NCEE portal shuts by 9:00am on June 6, 2026. Waiting until the last day is risky. Early registration helps avoid errors, overcrowded centres, and system shutdowns.
The NCEE 2026 is the gateway into Nigeria’s Federal Unity Colleges — and preparation, timing, and accuracy are everything.
