Adding to NSUK’s accolades, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, the university’s Vice-Chancellor, was honored with the Distinguished GovTech Trailblazer’s Award. This recognition underscores her pivotal role in advancing digital governance and technology reforms that align with the Federal Government’s digital transformation agenda.

The award presentation took place at the elegant NICON Luxury Hotel in Abuja on Friday, October 11, 2024. In her acceptance speech, Professor Sa’adatu expressed heartfelt gratitude to the organizers and credited the award to NSUK’s significant strides in digital governance.

Since her appointment in April 2024, Professor Sa’adatu has led a transformative Digital Revolution at NSUK. Key initiatives include:
- Enhanced Student Portal: Improved service delivery through a streamlined student portal.
- Revamped Payment System: A revised student payment portal to reduce financial leakages.
- Automated Revenue Processes: Automation of the Internal Generated Revenue (IGR) reconciliation process, enhancing financial transparency and efficiency.
Upgrading Online Services for a Modern Learning Experience
Under Professor Sa’adatu’s leadership, NSUK has made significant upgrades to its online services. The internet bandwidth was increased from 156 Mbps to an impressive 1 Gbps, facilitating a more robust online Post-UTME screening and admission process. Additionally, Computer-Based Tests (CBT) were implemented across multiple platforms, streamlining administrative procedures and enriching the learning experience for students.
Ensuring Academic Integrity and Transparency
The digital reforms not only bolstered NSUK’s revenue but also strengthened the integrity of academic records. Enhanced examination processes have improved transparency, addressing unethical practices and raising academic standards.
