MTN, WWF Launch 2025 Africa PachiPanda Challenge to Empower Young Innovators

The 2025 edition of the MTN/WWF Africa PachiPanda Challenge is officially here, sending a powerful call to action across the continent. This groundbreaking initiative, a partnership between telecoms giant MTN and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), is designed to support young Africans who are creating fresh solutions to climate change and pressing environmental issues.

For WWF, the challenge aligns perfectly with its global mission of zero habitat loss, wildlife protection, and sustainable living. For MTN, it reinforces the company’s strong commitment to green entrepreneurship and youth empowerment. But for participants, it’s more than a competition—it’s a life-changing opportunity to transform ideas into real-world impact.

What Is the MTN/WWF Africa PachiPanda Challenge?

The PachiPanda Challenge follows a two-stage format:

  1. National Selection – Each country will shortlist applicants. Selected participants will then form teams of up to three members. During a week-long sprint, teams will undergo a human-centered design process, exploring customer needs, refining business models, and crafting unique value propositions.
  2. Pan-African Final – After the sprint, teams will pitch their solutions before a panel of industry experts. National winners will move on to the continental grand finale, where the best of Africa’s innovators will battle for the top prize.

Why You Should Join

Winners from each country will receive prizes worth $5,000, but the benefits go far beyond money. Participants will also gain:

  • A platform to showcase solutions to a wide audience
  • Connections with investors and potential partners
  • Access to a network of like-minded innovators across Africa
  • Visibility and media exposure to accelerate growth

For many, this challenge will serve as the launchpad to scale impactful environmental projects.
