Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at ASU: 160 Graduate Scholarships for African Students (2025-2030)

The prestigious Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at Arizona State University (ASU) is offering an incredible opportunity for African students. Starting in Fall 2025, 160 graduate scholarships will be available, covering a range of online master’s degrees in collaboration with Kepler College in Rwanda.
What’s on Offer: Scholarships for 160 African Students
If you’re an aspiring graduate student from Africa looking to gain world-class education and leadership training, this scholarship program is for you. ASU’s Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program will select 40 scholars each year between 2025 and 2030, supporting them through their online degrees while providing in-person mentorship at Kepler College, Rwanda.

The scholarship covers the following master’s programs at ASU:
- College of Global Futures: MS in Global Technology and Development
- W.P. Carey School of Business: MS in Business Analytics
- Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation: MEd in Learning Design and Technologies
- Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering: MS in Information Technology, MSE in Sustainable Engineering
Scholarship Benefits:
This scholarship provides:
- Full Tuition Coverage: All expenses for the two-year program are paid.
- On-Campus Accommodation: Stay on campus during required in-person sessions.
- Mentorship and Leadership Development: Gain individual guidance to help you grow as a leader.
- Summer Intensive: Participate in a two-month leadership program at ASU in the United States between your first and second years.
Who Can Apply:
To be eligible for this transformative scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be a citizen of an African country.
- Be committed to ethical leadership and community engagement.
- Be aged between 18 and 33 years old.
- Have completed your undergraduate degree by July 2025.
- Have no prior graduate degree before August 2025.
- Be ready to reside in Kigali, Rwanda for the duration of the program.
- Meet ASU’s academic and English language requirements.
