LASU Urges New Students to Complete Central Admissions Clearance by January 31, 2025 – Matriculation Set for February 18
Lagos State University (LASU) has announced that all newly admitted full-time undergraduate students for the 2024/2025 academic session must complete the Central Admissions Clearance (LACACA) process by Friday, January 31, 2025. This clearance is a crucial step before the university’s matriculation ceremony on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
The LACACA process began on September 27, 2024, and usually lasts for one month. However, due to high demand and requests from students, the university has extended the clearance deadline to January 31, 2025.
Why is LACACA So Important?
LACACA is necessary for all admitted students to officially confirm their admission and gain access to essential university services. Students who complete the clearance will be allocated matriculation numbers, allowing them to:
- Make fee payments,
- Register with the Health Centre, and
- Collect the General Studies (GNS) Compendium.
Failure to complete LACACA by the new deadline will result in the loss of provisional admission. LASU has emphasized that no further extensions will be granted, urging students to take action immediately to avoid disruption to their academic progress.
How to Complete the LASU Online Clearance
To successfully complete the clearance, all admitted students must follow the steps outlined on the university’s portal:
- Make Payments:
- Before starting the clearance, candidates must pay acceptance, medical, and clearance fees through the LASU e-payment portal.
- Access the Portal:
- Visit the LASU Website and click on the “STUDENT” tab.
- Select “UG LACACA” and enter your UTME registration number and surname to start.
- Upload Required Documents:
- Validate your bio-data and verify your disability status (if applicable).
- Upload the following documents:
- O’Level scratch card details
- Original birth certificate
- UTME result slip
- JAMB admission letter
- Scanned signature
- Submit for Review:
- After uploading your documents, click “Submit” and wait for the university to review your submission. Your clearance status will progress in stages, with final approval required to reach 100%.
- Receive Matriculation Number:
- Once approved, a matriculation number will be assigned, and you can print your LASU Admission Clearance Certificate.
What Happens if Your Clearance is Rejected?
If any document does not meet the requirements, students will be notified through the portal to make necessary corrections. Corrections will require additional payments through the LASU payment portal.
