Kwara State Polytechnic Debunks Fake March 9 Resumption Notice
The Management of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, has firmly denied a viral message claiming that academic activities would resume on Monday, March 9, describing the information as fake, false, and unauthorised.
In an official statement dated February 2, 2026, the Polytechnic warned students and the general public to completely ignore the misleading notice, stressing that no resumption date has been announced by the institution.
What Triggered the Denial
The clarification came from the Office of the Acting Registrar after a message titled “Official Notice to all Kwarapoly Students” began circulating widely on social media and messaging platforms.
According to the Polytechnic, the notice did not originate from the school and was not approved by Management.
Registrar Speaks: ‘No Resumption Date Yet’
In the statement signed by the Acting Registrar, A. H. Amin, Management made it clear that:
The Polytechnic has not fixed or announced any date for the resumption of academic activities.
The Registrar cautioned students against relying on unverified messages, noting that such false information could lead to confusion, misinformation, and unnecessary inconvenience.
When Will the Official Resumption Date Be Announced?
Management explained that legitimate updates on:
- Resumption dates
- Academic activities
- Other critical school matters
will only be released after receiving formal directives from the appropriate authorities.
Once approved, such information will be communicated strictly through recognised and official channels of the institution.
Approved Official Channels for Accurate Information
To avoid falling victim to fake notices, students were advised to rely only on the following verified platforms:
- Directorate of Students Services
- Students’ Union Government (SUG)
