Kwara Health Tech College Denies Bandit Alert, Affirms Safety on Campus
The Kwara State College of Health Technology, Offa, has officially debunked a circulating social media claim that bandits entered the campus. The College emphasized that the report is entirely false and not connected to any real incident.
In a statement released by the Management, it was confirmed that the campus remains secure, activities are proceeding as normal, and classes continue without disruption. Early investigations suggest that a small group may have shared the rumor without considering the potential panic it could cause among students, staff, parents, and the wider public.
The College’s Security Department, in coordination with local security agencies, has verified that both the campus and surrounding areas are safe.
The Provost, Elder Ayanshola Benjamin, expressed concern over the speed at which the false report spread. He reaffirmed that student and staff safety remains a top priority and assured the public that robust security measures are in place. Efforts are underway to trace the source of the misinformation, with disciplinary action to be taken against anyone found responsible, in line with College regulations and the law.
The Management has urged students, parents, and the public to:
- Ignore the false message entirely.
- Stop sharing unverified information.
- Follow only official updates from the College, including the College website, verified social media platforms, and notices from the Office of the Registrar.
The College concluded by reaffirming its commitment to maintaining a safe, calm, and secure environment for learning and research, while reminding the community to use social media responsibly.
