Kano State College of Nursing Sciences Launches 2025/2026 Postgraduate Diploma Programmes

December 2, 2025 – Kano State College of Nursing Sciences has officially opened admissions for its 2025/2026 Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) programmes. Offered through the College’s Centre for Continuing Education and Consultancy Services, these programmes are run in affiliation with the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID).

The PGD courses are designed for nurses and health professionals seeking to advance their knowledge and practical skills in nursing, public health, and allied health fields. Each programme emphasizes hands-on training suitable for hospitals, primary health centres, teaching settings, and public health services.

Available PGD Programmes for 2025/2026
The College offers the following PGD courses:

  • Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing Sciences
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing Education
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health Nursing
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Maternal and Child Health (MCH)
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Health Planning and Management
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Epidemiology and Disease Control

Entry Requirements

For Nursing-Related PGDs:
Applicants for Nursing Sciences, Nursing Education, Public Health Nursing, or Maternal and Child Health must:

  • Hold a Degree or HND in Nursing
  • Be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN)
  • Have at least five credit passes in Physics, English, Mathematics, Biology, and Chemistry from approved secondary school examinations

For Health-Related PGDs:
Applicants for Public Health, Health Planning and Management, or Epidemiology and Disease Control must:

  • Hold a Degree or HND in a health-related field
  • Have at least five credit passes in Physics, English, Mathematics, Biology, and Chemistry

Application Process

  • PGD application forms are available for N10,000.
  • Candidates can obtain forms at the college premises or apply online via Centre for Continuing Education application portal
  • Applicants are advised to keep payment receipts and printed slips for future reference during the screening process.
