Application Timeline
The online application portal is accessible for six weeks, from October 14, 2024, to November 18, 2024. Don’t miss your chance to apply!
Admission Requirements
To be eligible for admission into the Nigeria Police Academy, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Nigerian Origin: Must be a Nigerian citizen by birth.
- Valid Identification: A valid National Identity Number (NIN) is required.
- JAMB Score: Must have a minimum score of 180 in the 2024 JAMB result and select the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, as the first choice.
- Academic Qualifications: A minimum of six credits in WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or equivalent, including English and Mathematics, achieved in no more than two sittings.
- Age Requirement: Applicants must be between 17 and 21 years old as of October 31, 2024.
- Physical Fitness: Must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit.
- Male applicants must be at least 1.67m tall; female applicants at least 1.64m.
- Males must have a minimum chest measurement of 86cm (34 inches).
- Marital Status: Applicants must not be married or pregnant at the time of admission.

- Exam Certificates: SSCE results or certificates obtained before 2021 will not be accepted.
How to Apply
To apply, follow these steps:
- Visit the Admission Portal: Go to the Nigeria Police Academy Admission Portal to generate a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) Code.
- Pay Application Fee: A non-refundable fee of N5,500 is required, which includes N2,000 for the POST UTME examination. Payments can be made at any commercial bank in Nigeria.
- Complete the Application Form: After payment, fill out the online form and upload scanned copies of your SSCE results, Birth Certificate, and Certificate of Origin.
- Submission: Print and submit your completed forms, along with a guarantor form, at the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil.
Aptitude Test and Physical Screening
All applicants will take a Computer-Based Aptitude Test at the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, with the exact date to be announced. Those who meet the test requirements will undergo an automated physical screening exercise and must present original copies of their documents, including:
- Educational qualifications
- Birth certificates or declaration of age
- Medical fitness evidence from a recognized government hospital
- Evidence of good character from a village or district head
- Indigene certificate signed by the Local Government Chairman or Secretary
- A guarantor form from a qualified public servant or police officer
Medical Screening and Interview
Successful candidates will then be invited for an automated medical screening followed by an interview and selection process.
Notification and Training
All successful applicants will receive notifications via email and SMS. Training at the Nigeria Police Academy will commence on a date to be announced.
Courses of Study
The academy offers Bachelor’s Degree programs in various fields:
- Faculty of Humanities: BA in English, History & International Studies, Linguistics, Nigerian Languages
- Faculty of Law: LLB in Law
- Faculty of Science: BSc in Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Computer Science, Forensic Science, Mathematics, Physics
- Faculty of Social and Management Sciences: BSc in Accounting, Economics, Management Science, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology
Duration and Outcome
The Nigeria Police Academy provides a combined academic and police training program lasting a minimum of five years. Graduates will receive a Bachelor’s Degree and be commissioned into the Nigeria Police Force as Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP II).
