How do I register for Jamb?
Jamb registration is strictly done online. Candidates who want to register for the Jamb examinations must carefully follow the necessary procedures required by JAMB.
Note: Before you register for Jamb, you must be 16 years old and above.
Jamb registration procedures:
1. Get your NIN (National Identification Number), without NIN you cannot register for Jamb.
2. Get your Jamb E PIN. You can get this from an accredited center. This process will be explained in the course of this post.
Do not patronize cyber cafés that are not accredited by Jamb. A lot of CBT centers are eager to dupe unsuspecting candidates of their money knowing fully well that their centers are not recognized by Jamb. An accredited CBT center will guide you perfectly during your registration so you do not have to worry about making mistakes.
Compulsory requirements for 2023/2024 JAMB registration:
1. NIN
2. Valid Email account
3. Personal phone number
4. Jamb profile
5. Correct Jamb subject combination
6. O’Level result (optional)

8. UTME syllabus
9. JAMB past questions.
The official book to read in preparation for Jamb examination 2023/2024 is ‘The Life Changer’ written, by Khadija Abubakar Jalli for Jamb/Direct Entry(DE) candidates. Candidates with biometric challenges can only register at JAMB headquarters (Abuja) and will also sit for the examination at Abuja on the last day of the national examination calendar.
Phone numbers used during registrations are automatically tied to the candidate’s names. The candidates receives codes from the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board which will be used to generate a pin. This e-Pin will be sent directly to the candidate’s phone number in the form of a text message. The candidates will present the code/e-Pin generated to an accredited cyber café for registration.
The registration cannot be completed until the candidate’s fingerprints are biometrically captured and his/her passport taken there and then. This is because no previously snapped/hardcopy passport will be accepted.
The fingerprints will be important in the case of future dealings between the candidate and Jamb via the candidate’s Jamb profile. Without a successful biometrics verification, the candidate will not be ushered into the exam hall.
