FUTMINNA Announces 34th Convocation & 43rd Founders’ Day Schedule for January–February 2026

The Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA) has officially announced the schedule for its 34th Convocation Ceremony for the 2024/2025 Academic Session and the 43rd Founders’ Day celebrations. The events will run from Friday, January 23 to Sunday, February 1, 2026, across various university venues.

Vice-Chancellor’s Invitation
On behalf of the University Council, Senate, Staff, and Students, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta invites the public to attend the ceremony, which will include the conferment of degrees and diplomas, presentation of prizes, and other celebratory activities.

• Friday, 23 January 2026 – Convocation Juma’at Prayer
  Venue: Main Campus Mosque, Gidan Kwano
  Time: 1:30 p.m.
• Sunday, 25 January 2026 – Convocation Church Service
  Venue: Chapel of Grace, Bosso Campus
  Time: 9:00 a.m.
• Monday, 26 January 2026 – Vice-Chancellor’s Press Briefing
  Venue: APC Building, Main Campus, Gidan Kwano
  Time: 10:00 a.m.
• Thursday, 29 January 2026 – Final Football Match
  Venue: Football Field, Main Campus
  Time: 4:00 p.m.
• Friday, 30 January 2026 – Exhibition
  Venue: Suleimanu Kumo Convocation Square, Main Campus
  Time: 10:00 a.m.
• Friday, 30 January 2026 – Commissioning of Projects
  Venue: Project Sites
  Time: 10:00 a.m.
• Saturday, 31 January 2026 – Convocation Lecture
  Venue: University Auditorium, Main Campus
  Time: 2:00 p.m.
• Sunday, 1 February 2026 – Convocation Ceremony & Founders’ Day
  Venue: Suleimanu Kumo Convocation Square, Main Campus
  Time: 10:00 a.m.
  Highlights: Conferment of Undergraduate & Postgraduate Degrees, Diplomas, Higher Degrees, and Award of Prizes

Important Information for Graduands

Payments: All fees must be paid into FUTMINNA’s TSA Account at CBN (No. 0190472161017). Full details available on the FUTMINNA official website.

Physical Presence: Graduands must attend in person to receive certificates and prizes. Proxy collection is not permitted.

Certificate Collection Requirements:

• Original statement of results
• Final year clearance form (duly signed)
• Final year ID card or letter of identification from Student Affairs

Invitation Cards & Academic Gowns:

• Available from School Secretaries starting Monday, 26 January 2026
• Gowns must be returned immediately after the ceremony. Damaged gowns incur a surcharge.

Security and Access Rules

• No bags or luggage allowed in Suleimanu Kumo Convocation Square
• Graduands will not be allowed entry after 10:30 a.m.
• Registered photographers, hawkers, and vendors must pay N500
• University Security will direct guests to designated parking areas
