FUTA Launches Erasmus KA171 Programme — Postgraduate Students to Study in Spain

The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), has officially opened applications for the Erasmus KA171 Student Mobility Programme, a prestigious international exchange initiative that allows postgraduate students to study abroad for one semester at the University of Jaén, Spain.

The opportunity, coordinated through FUTA’s School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology, Department of Forestry and Wood Technology, is part of the Erasmus Student Mobility Project, aimed at fostering research collaboration, academic exchange, and global learning exposure.


A Golden Ticket for Academic Growth

Under the 2025/2026 academic calendar, selected students will spend February to July 2026 at the University of Jaén. The programme offers a rare chance to experience advanced learning environments, engage in cross-border research, and build global academic networks — all while representing FUTA on the international stage.

“This programme reflects FUTA’s commitment to internationalization and quality research,” said Prof. Matthew Banji Oyun, the Erasmus Programme Coordinator at FUTA. “We want our students to gain world-class exposure that enriches their academic and professional outlook.”

Who Can Apply

To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be registered graduate students of FUTA.
  • Have completed their coursework for their postgraduate programme.
  • Possess a valid international passport with at least nine (9) months’ validity from October 2025.
  • Attain a minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a 5.0 scale at the undergraduate level.

How to Apply

Only four (4) slots are available for this prestigious exchange. Interested and qualified candidates must submit three (3) hard copies of the following documents:

  1. Scanned copy of international passport data page
  2. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  3. Latest registration document for postgraduate study
  4. Copy of undergraduate degree certificate
