FUNAAB Opens Inter-University Transfer Window for 2025/2026 Session
The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has officially announced the commencement of its inter-university transfer process for the 2025/2026 academic session. This opportunity allows students from other recognized Nigerian universities to continue their studies at FUNAAB—provided they meet strict eligibility criteria.
The announcement was made by Dr. Abdussobur Salaam, Deputy Registrar I of Senate and Admissions, who emphasized that interested applicants must carefully review and meet all outlined requirements before submitting their transfer requests.
Eligibility Requirements for FUNAAB Transfer Applicants
Students seeking to transfer into FUNAAB must fulfill the following conditions:
- Recognized Admission: Applicants must already be bonafide students of accredited Nigerian universities, with their initial admission properly approved by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
- Academic Records: Candidates must present an official transcript. A minimum CGPA of 3.00 is required for Agricultural programmes, while a CGPA of 3.50 is mandatory for Engineering and Science programmes—both based on a 5.00-point grading system. These records must reflect the student’s academic standing at the end of the second semester of the current academic year.
- Application Fee: A non-refundable fee of ₦40,000 (inclusive of REMITA charges) is required. Payment begins on Tuesday, 23rd September 2025.
FUNAAB stressed that failing to meet any of these conditions would automatically disqualify an application.
How to Apply for FUNAAB Inter-University Transfer
Students interested in securing a transfer are required to carefully follow these steps:
- Visit the official FUNAAB admission portal.
- Navigate to the Inter-University Transfer section and read the guidelines thoroughly.
- Log in with the JAMB registration number provided on the admission letter.
- Complete the online transfer form and print a copy.
- Submit the printed form at the Senate and Admissions Unit of FUNAAB.
Why This Matters
For many students, this transfer window offers a chance at a fresh start, a better fit for their academic goals, or access to FUNAAB’s unique strengths in agricultural and science-based education. However, deadlines, fees, and grade requirements mean applicants must act swiftly and carefully to avoid mistakes that could derail their chances.
As Dr. Salaam highlighted, FUNAAB has provided clarity in the process—now it is up to students to meet the standards and seize the opportunity.
