FG Rolls Out Inspire Live(s) Real-Time Online Classes to Transform Learning Across Nigeria

In a major step toward modernizing Nigeria’s education system, the Federal Government has launched the Inspire Live(s) Online Real-Time Classes Initiative, a nationwide digital learning programme designed to give students in every state access to live, high-quality lessons delivered by certified teachers.

Announced by the Federal Ministry of Education and confirmed in a statement signed by Folasade Boriowo, Director of Press and Public Relations, the initiative is a key component of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at expanding equal learning opportunities for all Nigerian children.

A National Push to Close Learning Gaps

The Inspire Live(s) programme addresses long-standing challenges in the education sector — including teacher shortages, uneven access to quality instruction, and frequent learning disruptions.

By streaming interactive lessons directly into classrooms, the platform ensures that students can continue learning regardless of their location, financial background or number of teachers available locally.

How Inspire Live(s) Works

The Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, confirmed that the platform is fully operational and already serving learners across the country.

Key details include:

  • Rollout Scope: Expanding gradually to cover all classes from Primary 1 to Senior Secondary 3 (SS3)
  • Current Coverage: Available for Junior Secondary School (JSS) and Senior Secondary School (SSS) students
  • Class Schedule: Mondays to Fridays, 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
  • Delivery Method: Live lessons conducted by master teachers using Cisco Webex
  • Learning Format: Fully interactive sessions, enabling students to follow and engage in real time
  • Requirements: Basic ICT devices and steady internet access inside schools

The ministry stressed that schools must meet a minimum digital readiness level to enjoy smooth audio-visual streaming.

Students in Junior Secondary School currently have access to subjects such as:

  • Basic Science
  • Mathematics

What States and School Leaders Must Do

To ensure a smooth nationwide rollout, the Federal Ministry of Education has issued directives to state authorities. All State Commissioners for Education are to:

  1. Appoint a State Focal Officer to coordinate the Inspire Live(s) programme.
  2. Disseminate full programme details to all public and private school principals.
  3. Ensure selected schools are equipped with basic ICT tools and internet connectivity.

School principals will handle student registrations exclusively through the official Inspire support channels.

Who Can Join?

The programme is open to both public and private schools, as long as they meet the basic ICT requirements.

This inclusiveness allows a single national platform to serve millions of learners, giving them access to experienced educators handpicked by the Federal Ministry of Education.

A Major Step for Equal Access to Learning

With Inspire Live(s), the government is building a future where every child — regardless of their state or socioeconomic level — can access world-class lessons daily.

As the rollout expands from JSS and SSS to primary levels, more schools will plug into the system, helping students stay academically engaged even when teacher numbers are low or schooling conditions are disrupted.

The ministry says continued collaboration between states, principals and teachers will ensure that Inspire Live(s) becomes a permanent pillar of Nigeria’s education landscape.
