ESUT Announces Christmas Holiday Schedule for Staff, Students

Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) has officially announced its approved Christmas holiday timetable for staff and students, setting clear dates for the end-of-year break and the resumption of academic activities.

According to an internal memo issued by the Office of the Registrar and dated December 15, 2025, the university will proceed on Christmas vacation after the close of work on Friday, December 19, 2025.

The memo further stated that normal academic and administrative activities will resume on Monday, January 5, 2026.

Lectures to Resume Immediately

In a key directive to students, the university emphasized that lectures will begin immediately upon resumption. Students are therefore expected to return to campus on time and be fully prepared for academic work from the first day of resumption.

“This is to ensure a smooth continuation of the academic calendar,” the memo noted, urging students to take the directive seriously.

Essential Staff to Remain on Duty

While the holiday applies to most staff members, the university clarified that staff assigned to essential services will continue to work throughout the holiday period. These roles are necessary for the daily operations and security of the institution and are exempt from the break.

Registrar Extends Christmas Wishes

The notice was officially signed by the Registrar, Mr. Ambrose G. Ugwu, who also extended warm Christmas greetings and best wishes to staff and students of the university.

The announcement provides clarity for the ESUT community as they plan for the festive season, while also reinforcing the institution’s commitment to maintaining academic discipline and continuity.
