EKSU Announces 2025/2026 Matriculation Schedule for Freshmen
Ekiti State University (EKSU) has finalized plans for the 2025/2026 matriculation ceremony for all new students. The university emphasizes that matriculation is mandatory, and any freshman who fails to participate will be considered to have voluntarily withdrawn from the institution.
Matriculation Date, Venue, and Time
- Date: Friday, 6 February 2026
- Time: 10:00 a.m.
- Venue: University Main Auditorium
Freshmen are expected to arrive early, fully prepared for the ceremony, as EKSU warns that late arrivals may disrupt proceedings.
Robe Collection and Return
Students must collect their matriculation robes on Thursday, 5 February 2026, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. from their respective Faculty Officers. To collect robes, students must present:
- Original Admission Letter
- Evidence of Registration (screened and cleared)
Robes must be returned in good condition by 2:00 p.m. on Monday, 9 February 2026. EKSU has outlined the following penalties for non-compliance:
- Late returns: N500 per day
- Lost or damaged robes: Full replacement cost
Dressing Guidelines
EKSU advises freshmen to dress appropriately under their academic gowns:
- Men: Suits under the academic gown
- Women: Preferably English-style dresses with long sleeves under the robe
Ceremony Readiness
Students are advised to read the matriculation digest provided by Faculty Officers prior to the ceremony. Guests should be seated by 9:00 a.m., and all robed students must be ready for the academic procession by 9:30 a.m.
Post-Ceremony Requirements
Immediately after matriculation, students are required to:
- Sign the Matriculation Register at their Faculty Office
- Submit their Matriculation Oath
