Delta State University Announces Matriculation Ceremony for 2024/2025 Academic Session
Delta State University (DELSU) has officially announced the date for the highly anticipated matriculation ceremony of new students for the 2024/2025 academic session. The event will take place on Saturday, February 1, 2025, across both the Abraka and Oleh campuses of the university.
Key Details of the Matriculation Ceremony
- Abraka Campus
- Time: 9:00 AM
- Venue: Convocation Arena, Site III, Abraka
- Important Note: All matriculating students are expected to be seated by 8:30 AM.
- Oleh Campus
- Time: 11:00 AM
- Venue: 1000-Seating Capacity Lecture Theatre, Faculty of Engineering
- Important Note: Students must be seated by 10:30 AM.
Gown Collection and Return Process
To ensure a smooth process for gown collection, Faculty Officers will handle distribution starting Monday, January 27, 2025. Students are advised to pick up their gowns at the Faculty Offices during the following hours: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Collection will close on Friday, January 31, 2025.
- Gown Return:
All gowns must be returned in good condition by Monday, February 3, 2025. A ₦1,000 penalty will be charged for each day a gown is late, while any lost or damaged gowns will incur a replacement fee of ₦10,000. - Important Notice:
Gowns are strictly prohibited from being rented out to photographers. Any gowns involved in such activities will be confiscated by security, and violators will face disciplinary actions.
Attendance and Ceremony Guidelines
Attendance at the matriculation ceremony is mandatory for all newly admitted students. Lateness will not be permitted. Faculty Officers are responsible for ensuring that students adhere to all event instructions.

All Principal Officers, Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments, staff, students, and other members of the university are encouraged to attend and show their support for the new students as they take this important step in their academic journey.
